The Select Program is for committed U14–U18 players ready for a more competitive environment — the next step on the pathway from Prospects and Development.

It demands a higher commitment and skill level than House, with a focus on character, teamwork, and a strong work ethic — on and off the field.

How It Works

Inside the Select Program

U14–U18 · Soccer for Life

The Select Program continues the pathway from Prospects and Development, aligned with the Soccer for Life tier of Canada Soccer’s LTPD. All head coaches are trained and certified to coach at this level.

Competition

Teams compete in the BC Coastal Soccer League — September through March, ending with league playoffs and/or Coastal Cup play for Division 1 and 2 teams in March and April.

Commitment

Twice-weekly training sessions, with games on weekends — boys on Saturdays, girls on Sundays. A higher commitment and skill level than House.

Team Formation

Teams are determined during team-formation and player ID sessions in April.

More than skill: we build character, teamwork, and a strong work ethic — encouraging players to set ambitious goals, learn from both wins and losses, and grow a lifelong passion for the game.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can we play in a higher age group?

If you believe your child qualifies to play with an older age group, please review the Squamish United Playing Up Policy.

What if we cannot attend the ID sessions?

Upon written request to the Squamish United Technical Director, players who missed the ID sessions can ask to train with the team appropriate for their age and be assessed individually.

Are there options if we cannot meet the required commitment?

These situations are discussed on a case-by-case basis. Some options are available for families who may have difficulty making a full weekly commitment — please raise any concerns with our technical staff.

Where do the registration fees go?

Squamish United is a not-for-profit organization. Registration fees cover:

  • Referees
  • Administration
