The Bridge

The Prospects Program is an entry-level opportunity for U8–U10 players — a bridge between recreational and advanced soccer, and the pathway from House into Development and Select. It's open to players of all skill levels.
Led by our technical staff and dedicated volunteer coaches, it offers enhanced training to help young talents unlock their potential in a supportive, challenging environment.

Inside the Prospects Program
U8–U10 · The Bridge
An entry-level step between recreational and advanced soccer — a pathway from House into Development and Select, open to players of all skill levels. Aligned with Canada Soccer’s LTPD (Fundamentals & Learn to Train).
On Top of House
Prospects players continue in the House Program and add enhanced training opportunities on top of their regular House activities.
Extra Training
One extra practice per week from September to March (U8 & U9: 4 weeks in fall and 4 in spring — 8 weeks total), with a 2–4 week break in the winter months.
Competitive Experience
Semi-regular exhibition games and tournaments in the Lower Mainland give players a taste of a more competitive environment.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much commitment is required?
Players selected to the Prospects training group commit to one additional training session per week, plus one or two exhibition games each month.
- The season runs September to mid-March, with a break from mid-December to mid-January.
- Playing multiple sports? Talk to your coach about any potential conflicts.
Are there options if we cannot meet the required commitment?
These situations are discussed on a case-by-case basis. Some options are available for families who may have difficulty making a full weekly commitment — please raise any concerns with our technical staff.
Are there options if we do not qualify for the program?
Players assessed as “not ready” for the Prospects program are encouraged to register in the House Program, where they continue to be observed by our technical staff and given opportunities for development and evaluation. Players are also welcome to join any available Squamish United supplemental training or third-party academies.
Where do the registration fees go?
Squamish United is a not-for-profit organization. Registration fees cover:
- Insurance
- Field user fees
- Lights

- Administration
