House Program
Introducing the Squamish United House Program: Your Gateway to Youth Soccer Excellence!
Welcome to the Squamish United House Program, a dynamic and engaging recreational soccer program designed to nurture the passion for the beautiful game among young players aged 4 to 13. Whether your child is taking their first kick or already dreaming of professional soccer glory, the Squamish United House League welcomes them with open arms. The primary goal of the House Program is to create an atmosphere where all skill levels are celebrated and embraced and our program adapts to their individual needs, helping them grow as both players and individuals.
We believe that every young athlete has the potential to shine, and we are committed to unlocking that potential in a nurturing and respectful setting. Our program is more than just soccer – it’s an immersive experience that focuses on fostering camaraderie, skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Friendships are formed, values are instilled, and a love for soccer is grown. Our volunteer parent coaches bring their dedication, while our Squamish United staff coaches provide invaluable support and guidance, ensuring that every child receives a well-rounded experience.
Enroll your child in the Squamish United House Program today, and watch them thrive in an environment that values growth, teamwork, and the sheer exhilaration of the game. Join us as we shape the future of soccer, one young player at a time.
What to Expect:
Age-Appropriate Formats: We believe in age-appropriate gameplay to ensure that young players have the best possible experience. Our house league games are organized as follows:
Under the age of 6: 3v3 format
Under the age of 8: 4v4 and 5v5 formats
Age 8-14 years old: Gradual transition from 6v6 to 8v8 play
Modified Rules: We focus on creating a positive learning environment for our players. To encourage skill development and participation, we have implemented modified rules:
No throw-ins and corner kicks for all age groups
No goalkeepers until age 7
Balanced Teams, No Player Selections: Our house league teams are formed with a commitment to fairness and equal opportunity. We do not hold “tryouts”; instead, our teams are balanced and diverse. This approach allows all players to grow at their own pace.
Flexible Age Group Placement: At Squamish United, we prioritize individual development. Players who are physically more developed can be moved up an age group, while those who may need more time can play down an age group. Our goal is to provide the right level of challenge for each player. This soft-tiered structure also ensures that players of similar abilities train and play together enabling us to provide tailored coaching and support.
