Volunteers make our club run
As a volunteer-driven non-profit, Squamish United depends on dedicated people who give their time to create a fun, safe, and positive soccer experience for local youth. Whether you have an hour a week or more, there's a place for you.
No Experience Needed
For most roles, all you need is enthusiasm and a willingness to help — we’ll support you the rest of the way.

Open Volunteer Roles
Referee Assistant
Help shape officiating through our Junior Referee Mentorship Program, working with the Head Referee to schedule House and Select games.
Uniform Coordinator
Manage the distribution and collection of House and Select uniforms, and track the Volunteer Uniform Program.
Equipment Coordinator
Oversee the maintenance, organization, and distribution of soccer equipment so players have safe, well-kept gear.
Media & Communications Coordinator
Manage the club's online presence — social media, website, news, and event promotion.
Director
Contribute to strategic decisions that shape the club's programs and direction.
Our Biggest Need
Coach With Us
Coaching is the most rewarding way to get involved — and our greatest need. We provide training, resources, and cover the cost of most coaching courses.
House Coach
Love the game and want to make a difference? No previous experience needed — just a willingness to learn and mentor. We provide full support and training.
- Season runs September–March (with winter & spring breaks)
- About 1 hour of practice per week, plus a Saturday game
- Coaching tips and player development models provided
Select Coach
We're seeking experienced coaches for our Select teams. BC Soccer requires specific credentials by age group and level — and we'll support your continued growth.
- Prior coaching experience required
- BC Soccer credentials by age group and level
- Ongoing development supported by the club
Before You Start
Getting Started
Criminal Record Check
Everyone who works with children — coaches, team managers, and volunteers — must complete a Criminal Record Check through BC's Criminal Records Review Program (CRRP) before the season. It's done online and is free for volunteers.
- Open the BC online Criminal Record Check (eCRC) portal.
- When prompted, enter our organization Access Code (shown here).
- Complete the check and follow the on-screen instructions — you'll be notified once it's processed.
- Renew every 3 years. A current check is required to stay eligible to coach or manage.
- Your privacy is protected. The identity-verification questions are confidential — the club only receives your check result, never your personal details.
- If fingerprints are required (occasionally, e.g. a similar-name match): Squamish RCMP doesn't offer this, but the Whistler RCMP detachment (4315 Blackcomb Way, Whistler) does. Squamish United reimburses the cost — email your receipt to treasurer@squamishunited.ca.
